We are the only research firm based in Venezuela for foreign investors, helping them every step of the way. We work in political risk, economic analysis, company evaluation, and market entry.

There are very few foreign reporters and analysts in Venezuela. It can be due to political issues, or because foreign firms do not see that it is worth it to be present. When they are here, they are hardly ever welcome in powerful circles. Add to that, they do not like to leave the capital, Caracas.

We are starting off Orinoco Research as a two-man team in Venezuela. We have experience in reporting, research and consulting.

We are bringing together very diverse backgrounds, from Canary Wharf to PDVSA. We also speak six languages!

Elias Ferrer

    I founded Orinoco Research while reporting for Forbes from Caracas, as I saw the colossal gap in knowledge regarding Venezuela abroad.

    Previously, I worked as a research analyst in Canary Wharf and as a freelance reporter. I graduated in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London.

    I worked in PDVSA for 12 years, where I came to head Middle East affairs. I studied Political Science in Barquisimeto, and I have a • Masters in Political and International Oil Trading from the UCV.
